What is Only Major US City to Have 100 Degree Temperature Day in February?

There is one and only one major city in the United State that has had a 100 degree temperature day in the month of February. Do you know what that city is?

A major city means a city with at least 1 million people living in its metro area. Everyone will know the city in the United States that has had a 100 degree weather temperature day in February.

There are well over a dozen smaller cities in the United States that have had 100 degree weather temperature days in February. But most people will not know those cities.

Before I get lot the major city with a 100 degree day in February, here are a few clues to help you make a guess which city it is.

The city is not Miami and it's not located in Florida. While many cities in Florida have had 90 degree temperature days in February it does not get hot enough in the Sunshine State in February for any city to have a 100 degree weather temperature day that early in the year.

The earliest 100 degree weather temperature day in Death Valley has occurred in March. Death Valley has never had a 100 degree day in the month of February. Death Valley is the hottest place in California.

Las Vegas and Phoenix have also never had a 100 degree day in February. Those two cities do not really heat up until later in the year. So what is the city?

What is Only Major US City to Have 100 Degree Temperature Day in February?

  • San Antonio - 100 degrees on February 21, 1996

San Antonio, Texas is the only major city in the United States to have had a 100 degree weather temperature day in the month of February. And San Antonio has only had a 100 degree in February once on February 21, 1996.

Surprisingly, the hottest weather temperature ever recorded in San Antonio is only 111 degrees. You would think the only major city in the United States to have a 100 degree temperature day in February would get a lot hotter than 111 degrees in the summer.
