Greatest Daily Snowfall Totals in New York City History

These are the ten days when the greatest amount of snow fell in New York City. The totals are measured in Central Park by the National Climatic Data Center.

These are the ten snowiest days in New York City weather history not the biggest snowstorms in NYC history. The difference is that the snowfall totals listed here are just for one day. You can see the 10 biggest snowstorms in NYC history at 10 Largest Snowstorms in New York City History.


What is interesting to note is that the greatest daily snowfall total in NYC history occurred last year and the two largest daily snowfall totals in New York City weather history both occurred in the last 10 years, and three of the top five in the last 15 years.

The data goes all the way back to 1869. So out of 148 years of data the top day occurred last year, the top two days occurred in the last 10 years and three of the five snowiest days in NYC weather history have occurred in the last 15 years.
Global warming may be real but based upon this data anybody living in the New York City area has a right to question whether global warming is real or not.
