The record hottest temperature in Houston is 109 degrees, which occurred on September 4, 2000, and was matched on August 27, 2011. 

The hottest month of the year in Houston is July, when the temperature averages 83.6 degrees. The second hottest month is August with an average temperature of 83.3 degrees, followed by June at 81.3 degrees and September at 78.9 degrees.
