Record Hottest and Coldest Weather Temperatures Ever Recorded in Everglades National Park, Florida

Official weather records have been kept in Everglades National Park, Florida since 1951. Here are the record hottest and coldest temperatures ever recorded in Everglades National Park, Florida since 1951.

Located in southern Florida, Everglades National Park has very mild weather variations in temperatures and much milder temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Florida or in almost all cities in the United States. 



The difference between the hottest and coldest temperatures ever recorded in Everglades National Park is 76 degrees. The difference between the hottest and coldest temperature records for the state of Florida is 111 degrees for a difference of 35 total degrees.

All-Time Record Hottest Weather Temperature Ever Recorded in Everglades National Park is 101 Degrees

The hottest weather temperature ever officially recorded in Everglades National Park, Florida is 101 degrees which occurred on both August 1, 1998 and September 12, 1999.

Everglades National Park, which was created in 1934, is certainly a warm weather area. Days when the temperature reaches 90 degrees or more have occurred in Everglades National Park in every month of the year.. The earliest 90 degree weather temperature date in Everglades National Park was on January 12, 2002, and the latest 90 degree day was on December 12, 2001.

There have, however, only been two days (both listed above) when the temperature reached 100 degrees in Everglades National Park since 1951.

The hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of Florida is 109 degrees which occurred on June 29, 1931, in Monticello which is located over 400 miles north of Everglades National Park.

The difference between the all-time hottest temperature in Everglades National Park (101) and the all-time hottest temperature in Florida (109) is 8 degrees. A decent size difference statistically. 

All-Time Record Coldest Weather Temperature Ever Recorded in Everglades National Park is 25 Degrees

The coldest weather temperature ever officially recorded in Everglades National Park, Florida is 25 degrees which occurred on December 25, 1989. Below freezing weather temperature days are very uncommon in Everglades National Park and they only occur in December or January in any given year if they occur at all. The earliest below freezing date in Everglades National Park was on December 15, 2010 and the latest was on February 9, 1995 (only below freezing date in history in month of February).

  • Coldest Temperature Ever Recorded in Florida is -2 Degrees

The coldest temperature ever recorded in the state of Florida is -2 degrees, which occurred on February 13, 1899, in Tallahassee which is located over 420 miles northwest of Everglades National Park. On February 13, 1899, the Great Blizzard of 1899 struck the northeastern part of North America spreading record temperatures all the way down to Cuba and bringing the only below zero temperature reading ever recorded in Florida. 

The difference between the all-time coldest temperature ever recorded in Everglades National Park (25) and the all-time coldest temperature in the state of Florida (-2) is 27 degrees. A big difference and a much larger difference than the hottest temperatures between the park and the state.

Overall, Everglades National Park is a place with very moderate weather temperatures and this beautiful protected wetlands has a much milder climate in temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Florida and in almost all cities in the United States.
