The 10 all-time hottest temperatures ever recorded in the borough of the Bronx, plus the hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of New York. The temperature data for the Bronx dates back to 1948.


The Bronx has a population of some 1.46 million people in the city proper which would rank as the 8th largest city in the United States if the Bronx was an independent city. The Bronx is the only borough of New York City that is part of the mainland and the the Bronx is the fourth largest and fourth most populated borough in New York City.  

It can certainly get hot in the Bronx and the state of New York. The all-time hottest temperature ever recorded in the Bronx is 107 degrees which occurred on July 3, 1966. The hottest weather temperature ever recorded in the state of New York is 108 degrees which occurred on July 22, 1926, in Troy.

The Bronx can experience 100 degree weather temperature days in the summer but such days are not common. The earliest date when a 100 degree day occurred in any year was on June 26, 1952, when it was 101 degrees. The latest date when a 100 degree day occurred was on September 2, 1953, when it was 102 degrees.
