Hottest Temperature Record for Each Month of the Year for Hartford, Connecticut

Hartford is one of the most populated and most visited cities in the New England. 



For all the people living in the Hartford area and all the tourists thinking of visiting the city, here is a list of the hottest temperature records for each month of the year.

The list can be very useful for tourists visiting Hartford at any time of the year. Also listed for each month are great places to visit in Hartford during that time of the year.

In addition to the record hottest temperature and places to visit for each month, I'm also listing the date and year in which the record occurred. If you are not familiar with Hartford, you might be pretty surprised at some of the record hottest temperatures for each month.

The temperature records below date back to 1905. All the data is from the National Weather Service.

January – 72 degrees

The record high temperature for January in Hartford is 72 degrees and it was recorded on January 6, 2006.

Many people might be pretty surprised that Hartford has had a 70 degree day in January. It's only been 70 degrees in January one other time and that occurred on January 14, 1932, when it was 70 degrees exactly.

Since the weather can be cold and unpredictable in January, a great place to visit in Hartford during the first month of the year is the Wadsworth Atheneum which is the oldest continually operating art museum in the United States.

February – 77 degrees

The record high temperature for February in Hartford is 77 degrees, which occurred on February 21, 2018. It's only been 70 degrees in Hartford in February four times since 1905.

February is another month with unpredictable weather in the city. Another great indoor place to visit is the Connecticut Science Center.

March – 89 degrees

The record high temperature for March is 89 degrees which occurred on March 31, 1998. How many people would have guessed it's almost been 90 degrees in Hartford in March?

The best place to visit in Hartford in March is the Mark Twain House and Museum located at 351 Farmington Avenue. Twain lived in the home for 17 years with his wife and three daughters. Nearby is the Harriet Beecher Stowe House.

April – 94 degrees

The record high temperature for April in Hartford is 96 degrees which occurred on April 19, 1976. To date, it's been 90 degrees or hotter 10 times in Hartford in April.

April is a great month to head over to the impressive looking State Capitol Building in the heart of the city. Tours of the building are free, but go during the week as the building is closed on weekends.

May – 99 degrees

The record high temperature for May in Hartford is 99 degrees and it's been reached twice. The record high was set on May 20, 1996, and matched on May 26, 2010.

A great place to visit in May in Hartford is Bushnell Park, the first public park in America. You can see statues, fountains, memorials and a 1914 Stein and Goldstein carousel in the park.

June – 100 degrees

The record high temperature for June in Hartford is 100 degrees, which has occurred twice. The first time was on June 26, 1952, and the second time was on June 30, 1964.

As the weather gets nice in Hartford in June it's a great time to visit the Elizabeth Park Conservancy and especially the Elizabeth Park Rose Garden.

July – 103 degrees

July is a fun time in Hartford to go and see a baseball game at Dunkin' Donuts Park, which is the home of the Hartford Yard Goats of the Double AA Eastern League.

The record high temperature for August in Hartford is 102 degrees. That record high occurred on August 9, 2001.

August is a great month in Hartford to visit the Ancient Burying Ground. Located at 60 Gold Street, this historic site has gravestones dating back to 1648.

September – 101 degrees

The record high temperature for September in Hartford is 101 degrees. That record high occurred on September 2, 1953. Only the months of June, July, August and September have reached 100 degrees in Hartford.

The weather is still pretty good in September and it's a great time to take a walk over the pretty Connecticut River on the historic 1,192 foot long Bulkeley Bridge.

October – 91 degrees

The record high temperature for October in Hartford is 91 degrees which has been reached two times. The first time was on October 2, 1927, and the second time was on October 7, 1963.

As the leaves change over, October is a great time to visit the Cathedral of St. Joseph. This 281 foot high massive limestone Roman Catholic church filled with stained glass windows is a sight to behold.

November – 83 degrees

The record high temperature for November in Hartford is 83 degrees which occurred on November 2, 1950.

A great historical site in Hartford to visit in November is the Museum of Connecticut History located at 231 Capital Avenue.

December – 76 degrees

The record high temperature for December in Hartford is 76 degrees which occurred on December 7, 1998.
