Days when the temperature soars to over 100 degrees are also pretty common in Anaheim and can occur from April through November.

The hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of California and the world is 134 degrees which occurred on July 13, 1913, at the Greenland Ranch in Death Valley. Anaheim is located about 250 miles as the crow flies southwest of Death Valley.

The coldest weather temperature ever officially recorded in Anaheim, California is 30 degrees which occurred on both February 15, 1990 and January 30, 2002. 

Below freezing weather temperatures are pretty rare in Anaheim and they have only occurred in the months of December, January and February.

  • Coldest Temperature Ever Recorded in California is -45 Degrees

The coldest temperature ever recorded in the state of California is -45 degrees, which occurred on January 20, 1937, in Boca. The town of Boca is now mostly gone submerged under the Boca Dam which was built in 1939 and is located along Route 80 north of Lake Tahoe.

The difference between the all-time coldest temperature ever recorded in Anaheim (30) and the all-time coldest temperature in the state of California (-45) is 75 degrees. A huge difference and a much larger a difference than the hottest temperatures between the city and state.

Overall, Anaheim is a city with very moderate weather temperatures and this largest city in Orange County located 25 miles south of LA has a much milder climate in temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of California and in most cities and places in the United States.

  1. I lived in Anaheim for many years but grew up in the suburbs of NYC long Island. I am an amature clim ate and weather buff I have notices that historical temperatures records deserve an asterisk. The official NOAA records generally are for a block of 30 years. Often what is being touted as a record high or low is for a thirty year span The civic center in downtown LA has an all time record low of 28. That is an unusually high minimum🌡since most of San Diego has all time records in the lower and mid twenties

  2. The blocks of 30 year data is not where I get the official data. If you look at the data they give you the exact date including the year. For LA the data goes back to 1877, I believe.
