Located along the east bank of the Colorado River just south of the Davis Dam and Mojave Lake about 90 miles south of Las Vegas and across the river from Laughlin, Nevada, Bullhead City has very mild weather variations in temperatures and much milder temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Arizona or in almost all cities in the United States.

Below freezing weather temperature days are not common in Bullhead City and they only occur from late November to February in any given year if they occur at all. The earliest below freezing date in Bullhead City was on November 20, 1994 and the latest was on March 15, 1998 (a fluke and the only below freezing date in history in month of March).

The coldest temperature ever recorded in the state of Arizona is -40 degrees, which occurred on January 7, 1941, at Hawley Lake which is located about 340 miles east of Bullhead City in the White Mountains in eastern Arizona.

The difference between the all-time coldest temperature ever recorded in Bullhead City (23) and the all-time coldest temperature in the state of Arizona (-40) is 63 degrees. A huge difference and a much larger difference than the hottest temperatures between the park and the state.

Overall, Bullhead City is a place that gets very hot for most of the year and only gets a bit cold at times in the winter and this city has a much milder climate in temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Arizona and in almost all cities in the United States.
