The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant is a deep geological repository where nuclear waste is stored way under ground. It is located in southeastern New Mexico, not too far from Carlsbad Caverns National Park, which is a great place to visit. The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant is located about 300 miles southeast of Albuquerque.
