Ten Coldest Weather Temperature Days Ever Recorded in Houston, Texas

Weather temperature records in Houston, Texas have been officially kept since 1889. Here is a list of the ten coldest weather temperature days in Houston history since 1889. 



Out of the 10 coldest temperatures in Houston history, four have occurred in February and the months of January and December have had three coldest days each. Those are the three coldest months in Houston, with January being the coldest month with an average temperature of 50.4 degrees followed by December at 53.5 degrees and February at 53.9 degrees.

The coldest weather temperature ever recorded in Houston is 5 degrees which occurred on January 18, 1930. The most recent really cold day in Houston occurred on December 23, 1989, when it was 7 degrees and that date is on the list below.

Though the 10 coldest temperature days in Houston history are pretty cold, the city is not a cold weather city and Houston only averages 18 days a year when the temperature drops below the freezing mark. Most cities in the United States have experienced at least one below zero weather temperature day but Houston has never really come that close to one yet.
