Weather Temperatures have officially been kept in New York City since 1869. Here are the earliest and latest 100 degree weather temperature days in New York City history since 1869. Also included are the earliest and latest 90 degree, 80 degree and 70 degree weather temperature days in New York City history.

Since 1869, there have been exactly 60 days in New York when the weather temperature reached 100 degrees or hotter. That works out to one 100 degree weather temperature day once every 2 1/2 years and there is a 40% chance New York will have a 100 degree weather temperature day this year.

So for all the tourists and visitors to New York City including Times Square, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Freedom Tower, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, and all the great restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels and spas in the city, the odds are you will not be here for a 100 degree temperature day. Do not be misled by that, though, because it can certainly get hot in New York City in the summer and pretty warm the rest of the year too at times as you can see from the stats below.
