The coldest temperature ever recorded in the state of Florida is -2 degrees, which occurred on February 13, 1899, in Tallahassee which is located about 170 miles northwest of Ocala. On February 13, 1899, the Great Blizzard of 1899 struck the northeastern part of North America spreading record temperatures all the way down to Cuba and bringing the only below zero temperature reading ever recorded in Florida.
The difference between the all-time coldest temperature ever recorded in Ocala (11) and the all-time coldest temperature in the state of Florida (-2) is 13 degrees. A decent sized difference and a much larger difference than the hottest temperatures between the city and the state.
Overall, Ocala is a city with very moderate weather temperatures and this well known area filled with beautiful thoroughbred horse breeding farms has a milder climate in temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Florida and in almost all cities in the United States.

Remember an unofficial temperature of -6 was registered but when they decided to get actual recording yes its a -2. The again a -6 is unofficial.
ReplyDeleteSo if a -6 or let's say a -2 is it possible to see numbers in Ocala or let's say North Central, Florida. Temperature ranging to let's say to that -2 if the record is 11 is that too 7,8,9? To the -6 is it too 3,4,5? True isn't it...
ReplyDeleteI guess I had too break the weather criteria down to the science and forget the drama the awaits on TV. If it what is understood through those facts the public is truly unaware of what really bad weather is....I mean really bad. It will be the Micheal Jackson moonwalk of weather.
