Record Hottest and Coldest Weather Temperatures Ever Recorded in Vero Beach, Florida

Official weather records have been kept in the city of Vero Beach, Florida since 1923. Here are the record hottest and coldest temperatures ever recorded in Vero Beach, Florida since 1923.

Located along the east coast of Florida midway between Daytona Beach and Miami, the city of Vero Beach has very mild weather variations in temperatures and much milder temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Florida or in almost all cities in the United States. 



Vero Beach is famous as a tourist destination that is home to Disney's Vero Beach Resort the first Disney Vacation Club built outside of the main Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Vero Beach was also famous as the Spring Training home of the Brooklyn Dodgers and then Los Angeles Dodgers major league baseball teams. The Dodgers moved to Arizona in 2008 but the Dodgertown fields are still used for state baseball games and sporting events today.

The difference between the hottest and coldest temperatures ever recorded in Vero Beach is 82 degrees. The difference between the hottest and coldest temperature records for the state of Florida is 111 degrees for a difference of 29 total degrees.

All-Time Record Hottest Weather Temperature Ever Recorded in Vero Beach is 103 Degrees

The hottest weather temperature ever officially recorded in Vero Beach, Florida is 104 degrees which occurred on June 21, 1985.

Vero Beach is certainly a warm weather city. Days when the temperature reaches 90 degrees or more have occurred in Vero Beach in every month of the year except for December, January and February but is has been 89 degrees in both December and February. Days when the temperature reaches 100 degrees or more have only occurred in the city a handful of times since 1923.

  • Hottest Temperature Ever Recorded in Florida is 109 Degrees

The hottest temperature ever recorded in the state of Florida is 109 degrees which occurred on June 29, 1931, in Monticello which is located about 320 miles northwest of Vero Beach.

The difference between the all-time hottest temperature in Vero Beach (103) and the all-time hottest temperature in Florida (109) is 6 degrees. Not a huge sized difference statistically. 

All-Time Record Coldest Weather Temperature Ever Recorded in Vero Beach is 21 Degrees

The coldest weather temperature ever officially recorded in Vero Beach, Florida is 21 degrees which occurred on January 21, 1985. 

Below freezing weather temperature days are not common in Vero Beach and they only occur from December to early March in any given year if they occur at all. 

  • Coldest Temperature Ever Recorded in Florida is -2 Degrees

The coldest temperature ever recorded in the state of Florida is -2 degrees, which occurred on February 13, 1899, in Tallahassee which is located about 330 miles northwest of Vero Beach. On February 13, 1899, the Great Blizzard of 1899 struck the northeastern part of North America spreading record temperatures all the way down to Cuba and bringing the only below zero temperature reading ever recorded in Florida. 

The difference between the all-time coldest temperature ever recorded in Vero Beach (21) and the all-time coldest temperature in the state of Florida (-2) is 23 degrees. A big difference and a much larger difference than the hottest temperatures between the city and the state.

Overall, Vero Beach is a city with very moderate weather temperatures and this popular tourist area along the east coast of the Sunshine State has a much milder climate in temperature variations than the extremes found in the state of Florida and in almost all cities in the United States.
